We’ve been coming to Port Elliot for decades and having meals at the Port Elliot Hotel. It goes through ups and downs. We had a meal at the PEH on Friday night and it was so great we came back Sat night. Key up: friendly attentive staff. Great “pub food” and a great wine list. Well done Port Elliot Hotel (& shout out to Stella, one of the excellent wait staff).
My steak was perfectly cooked, tasty, tender and the plate loaded with piping hot chips - too good! Ice cold draft beer with friendly service and plenty of spaces to enjoy a quiet meal, socialise in a bigger group, dine solo or enjoy the fresh air outside
The best birthday lunch I had. The chicken breast was cooked to perfection, well seasoned mashed (both on the chicken and banger) and the sauce was to die for.
If you sit outside, at the back of the hotel, you can get a good view of the Cockle Train 🚂
Pet Friendly outside area can bring fur babies.The staff is very Friendly. The meals are very nice. Great location. Menu selection good.
Lovely place for lunch. Chicken and Vegan Parmigianas were amazing as well as the Strawberry Daiquiri! Dogs also welcomed in the garden/bar area which is great 😀 10/10
Visited on Australia day, we got our meals quite quickly and service was friendly considering it was a public holiday. I ordered the wagyu steak and my partner ordered chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Would have definitely preferred a larger serving size and more chips for the price we paid and the steak wasn't the best quality. The mushroom & pepper sauce was very good. Overall I would rate our experience a 3.5 and would like to return when it is quieter
We arrived at 6pm had ordered by 6.15pm. The place was FULL so knew we would wait a while and expected this however at 8.10 PM after enquiring twice as to how are food was going to be told ..So sorry but we have not got your order.
Funny as we had been already given our x 2 kids meals plus one of our party ordered and received her entree plus on the two occasions we enquired as to how it was going and they said it's coming we are just busy.
So at 8.10pm one of the party left as the kids were starting to lose it without having had anything to eat.!!!!
It didn't help that the weather was cold and we were outside.
We got upset and the head waiter for the night came and tried to sort it out by saying that the cook would probably yell at her but she will.see if we can go before the others waiting!!!!!!!We had been waiting 2 hours.
Very disappointed.
How Ever we got our food and it was delicious however not a pleasant experience as some of the party had left.
Food was amazing!
Vibe was great, seats can be private if you want. A pretty flexible place.
Haven’t got a chance to check out the toilet tho.
